Oliver’s technique still centers on the abstract intuitive but more regularly infuses human images in expression of the deeply emotional nature of his compositions.

 

It is also more focused on complex layers of texture and color composed through a signature marking process evocative of the movement of raindrops in the wind. These small marks are created by burning into the painted surface to reveal underlying colors, add an important textural element and create harmonious movement and form that is central to each composition.
